Evelyn has, of late, taken a serious interest in assisting us in the parenting--and especially disciplining--of her brother.
Her recent parenting repertoire includes some of the following sayings:
- "No, Jesse, it's just too late." --said in response to any number of requests Jess makes (of us), such as a request to read book, have a snack, etc.
- "Thumb out of mouth, Jesse."--often said even as she sucks her own favored fingers.
- "Like this, Jesse."--said as she demonstrates how he should follow our instructions to sit calmly in his chair (for a time out) instructions she herself *never* follows when it's her turn to have a sit.
- "Sorry, Jesse, no video for you, you no keep it dry"--no need for explanation...
- "Sorry, Jesse, it's all gone."--said very politely as she swiftly stuffs in her mouth the last of some candy he was wanting her to share.
Although we're trying to make clear to Evelyn that we'll handle the parenting, I have a feeling she's always going to be inclined to see herself as her brother's keeper.

sooo funny and cute. Thus it begins for both sides! Wish we could see it first hand - right now! Love you guys!
Hilarious! She's practicing to take her rightful place in the world as matriarch of a clan. I'll cheer her on, happily! Eleonore
