Picture Day

Today was picture day at school so the kids got dressed all fancy-schmancy. They look so grown up and sophisticated, it really is hard to believe they're just kindergarteners.

Early Days of Spring

Not a typical Spring day, but lovely even so.

A little comfort

This evening I was getting extremely frustrated and demoralized by (relatively minor but) ongoing behavior issues with the kids. I could feel myself getting really mad and decided the best thing to do would be for me to take a break. Announcing to all present: "I need a break from this..." I left and went into my bedroom.

I was still sitting there a few minutes later--head in my hands--when I heard the pitter-patter of the little man's feet. He slid a book into my lap and said, "mom, look at this while you calm down" and then padded away.

I opened my eyes to find this in my lap:

Artist in residence

 Evelyn has been spending a great deal of time at
her art table these days. She's an incredibly
prolific artist. Her productions are as varied as
they are numerous.
