If You're Happy and You Know It...

A month or so ago, we bought a little music player for the kids. It's their own little "boom box". You can load Mp3s on it, but it came with a stock of about 20 songs. So far, the kids have yet to exhaust their interest on even half of these songs. In fact, there are only about 3 songs that they listen to--they skip over all of the rest. The top pick among these 3 songs is: "If You're Happy and You Know It". Although I'm about to lose my mind with the constant repetition of this song, you'll see from the videos below that my little DJ-Jazzy-Jess keeps it fresh by updating his dance moves.

So, in this first video we see Jess performing what we might call his "thumbs up boogie". (On Jess's behalf, I'd like to dedicate this little number to our friend, Mike Dando, who introduced Jess to basic the concept of "thumbs up". Little did he know Jess would turn it into performance art.)

In this next video, you can see Jess taking a more traditional approach to the song. Unfortunately, at the end he gets a little distracted by, uh, the presence of the sky . (Also worth noting: Evelyn's more subtle style--a small, thoughtful, hip-sway thing.)

So cute! Jess really has some mad skillz there, and I love how Evelyn has got it all down even to the right beat.
