July 4th is a special day in the history of this family.
On this day 2 years ago, we were able to finally bring Jess and Evelyn home and begin our life together as a family. Although these little people secured a deep and permanent place in our heart from the very moment we laid eyes on them, it was on July 4th 2008 that this bond was recognized by the state of Kazakhstan and our adoption was made legal.
Two years ago today, Brent and I were granted a tremendous gift and privilege: the opportunity to be Jesse and Evelyn's Mom and Dad.
To commemorate the occasion, I made Jess and Evelyn a "movie" of these first two years of our life together. They've already watched it like a billion times. Since it's been vetted and favorably reviewed, I figured I'd go ahead and share it with the rest of you. (Especially since many of the readers of this blog are featured in it.)
Happy second anniversary, Evelyn and Jesse. We love you.

Congratulations on 2 years together. My daughter & I also celebrate adoption day on July 4th but we've been together 3 years. What a wonderful coincidence!

Wow!! What a great montage! It's been two years already? Seriously?! :-) I can't believe it's been that long already. It feels like maybe just a year ago we made contact for the first time.
