Snow Day!

Those of you who saw my facebook status know that I lamented the lack of luster that snow days now have.  Snow days used to be a day off school, a day to play in the snow, an unexpected break from the usual schedule dropped without forewarning from the heavens.  Snow days now mean lost productivity, a break in the established stride, and usually just a different kind of work at home.

BUT I have to admit that some of the luster is restored in seeing the twins wonder at all the snow, their enjoyment of all the new games one can play with the white stuff, and their appreciation of the fact that am home rather than at that mysterious temporal black hole called "work."
Evelyn and Jesse had a great time playing in the cold and snow on our snow day, and again on the weekend.  After everyone got their snow gear on we made a snow mountain to play on.

While we were out, we rolled and decorated a snowman with almond eyes, raisin mouth and carrot nose

After that, Evie got cold and went inside.  Jesse stuck around to have a snowball fight and play King of the Mountain:

Ouch! Was that good aim or bad aim, Jess? ;-)

Hope you guys (and the camera) survived his killer throwing arm!

I laughed out loud! What a ballplayer that little guy is going to be! And I think that there's something to be said for thinking of true joy as a snow day!
